Marketing and Social Media Coordinator Job Description
Debut Atlantic seeks an individual with strong social media and marketing skills. Working with the Debut Atlantic team, the Marketing and Social Media Coordinator will:
Develop a social media plan for Debut Atlantic:
o Research and recommend the most advantageous social media platforms for which Debut Atlantic to focus its limited resources (human and financial);
o Build a social media plan with corresponding schedule for posting maximizing and integrating platforms based on current practice and current research and recommendations;
Review current marketing timelines and strategies:
o Update and revise critical path as needed;
o Create templates for pre and post marketing communications with Artists & Presenters;
o Review and update marketing email lists and contact information;
o Create a style guide based on current practice and industry recommendations
Research new, renewed, and expanded markets for Debut Atlantic including:
o Regional and Community Arts Councils throughout the region;
o Chambers of Commerce and Arts Groups for communities in target areas throughout the region
Research grant programs offering assistance with marketing material creation for both Debut Atlantic and Artists
In addition, the Coordinator may assist with:
- planning Debut Atlantic’s AGM and accompanying Board activities;
- administrative duties such as answering the telephone, replying to correspondence, research, and database management;
- other duties as required
The position requires a collaborative, flexible, and skilled communicator (including oral, written, and presentation skills) with a background in Marketing and Communications and a strong attention to detail. Knowledge of the classical music sector, and bilingualism (English and French) are considered assets.
The Marketing and Social Media Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with the Program Officer.
Wage: $11.00 per hour; 30 hours/week for up to 12 weeks
Eligibility: Applicants MUST be a student residing in Nova Scotia for a minimum of six months prior to the work term and be one of the following:
- Attending a post-secondary institution and returning to the same institution in the Fall of the current year (copy of marks must be provided upon hiring)
- Attending a post-secondary institution and transferring to another in the Fall of the current year (copy of marks and acceptance letter must be provided upon hiring)
- A Grade 12 graduate who will be attending post-secondary institution full-time in the Fall of the current year (copy of Grade 12 Graduation Certificate and acceptance letter from post-secondary institution must be provided upon hiring)
