A Second Rush of Classical Guitar Coming to Nova Scotia!
HALIFAX, NS – One of Canada’s preeminent classical guitarists, Emma Rush is set to return to Nova Scotia for the second leg of her Debut Atlantic tour from April 1 – April 8, 2017. With such a powerful stage presence, it is no wonder that her career has commanded world recognition, taking her to tour throughout China, Europe, the United States, Mexico and, of course, Canada. Rush will present a compelling program rich with folk traditions, as well as ‘Briny Ocean’ by Canada’s own Dale Kavanagh, a work depicting the dramatic weather of the Atlantic coast and the feelings of nostalgia for one’s home.
Emma will start things off in Antigonish on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 8:00pm performing for the Antigonish Performing Arts Series in Immaculata Hall, St. F.X.. She will then head to Annapolis Royal to perform in the King’s Theatre on April 2, 2017 at 7:30pm. On Thursday, April 6, 2017 Emma will appear at the Osprey Arts Centre in Shelburne at 7:00pm and on Friday, April 7, 2017 she will perform at Paul’s Hall in Glen Haven. Emma’s final performance will be on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 7:30pm at The Old School in Musquodoboit Harbour.
In addition to her concert engagements, Emma will be working with young students and performing at schools throughout the region. She also will be making surprise appearances for pop-up concerts throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality. Her concerts in Glen Haven and Musquodoboit Harbour as well as her pop-up appearances are made possible through support from HRM’s Professional Arts Grants Programs.
Please see the enclosed list of tour dates and artist biography and don’t miss your chance to see Emma perform in what are sure to be memorable concerts!
