RESILIENCE: Therrien-Go Duo’s Nova Scotia Tour Celebrates the Triumphs of Iconic Composers Who Defied Adversity
K’JIUPUKTUK/HALIFAX, NS – This March, prepare to be captivated by RESILIENCE, a thrilling concert experience that takes you on a deeply emotional and inspiring journey through the lives and music of some of classical music’s most iconic composers. Presented by the dynamic Therrien-Go Duo, cellist Daniel Hamin Go and pianist Jean-Luc Therrien, this performance will showcase works by Claude Debussy, Anna Pidgorna, Samuel Barber, Germaine Tailleferre, Andrea Cassarubios, and Sergei Rachmaninoff—each of whom dared to dream in the face of adversity, leaving a lasting legacy of perseverance and triumph.
RESILIENCE celebrates the powerful stories of artists who overcame extraordinary challenges: Germaine Tailleferre, whose fight to pursue her musical dreams as a woman in a male-dominated world broke barriers; Samuel Barber, whose heart and soul poured into his music despite the struggles of living as a gay man in a repressive society; and Sergei Rachmaninoff, who reclaimed his passion for music after a devastating period of self-doubt, eventually composing some of the most beloved works in the cello and piano repertoire. Touring with Debut Atlantic from March7-23, 2025, RESILIENCE reflects the transformative power of art and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
Join the Therrien-Go Duo as they celebrate resiliency with audiences across Nova Scotia. The tour kicks off on Friday, March 7, in Tatamagouche, NS at The Grace Arts Centre for a 7:00pm performance. The following day, Saturday, March 8, Therrien-Go will stop by Cecilia’s Retreat in Mahone Bay, NS for a 4:00pm performance. On Tuesday, March 11, they’ll enchant audiences in Antigonish, NS, at the Antigonish Performing Arts Series with a 7:30pm concert.
