WNUKOWSKI SET TO WOW ATLANTIC CANADIAN AUDIENCES
HALIFAX, NS – Hot off of his sold-out Carnegie Hall debut, Polish-Canadian pianist Daniel Wnukowski is hailed as “rapturous and glowing” (International Record Review) and “a pianist to watch” (New York Classical Review). With his extensive touring experience throughout Europe, North America, South America, and Asia, Wnukowski’s virtuosity translates easily from large venues to intimate, community settings. With a program exploring German greats along with a featured work by Zenobia Powell Perry, Wnukowski will soon begin a tour of Atlantic Canada with Debut Atlantic. The tour will take place from November 9 to November 20, and will include five performances in Nova Scotia, one in New Brunswick, and one in Newfoundland and Labrador.
In addition to concert engagements, Wnukowski will be working with young students and performing at schools throughout the region. He will also participate in a video conferencing session hosted by Newfoundland’s Centre for Distance Learning and Innovation (CDLI), which reaches hundreds of students throughout Newfoundland and Labrador and will be available for public viewing around the world at a date to be announced soon.
Debut Atlantic wishes to recognize the partners and sponsors that come together to bring these incredible artists to communities and venues of all sizes across our region. Touring these artists would not be possible without the generous support of sustaining partners, including Canada Council for the Arts, Arts Nova Scotia, and the Province of New Brunswick. Debut would also like to thank its educational partner, the Nova Scotia Department of Education; and its season partners, including the Halifax Regional Municipality, The Lloyd Carr-Harris Foundation, Support4Culture, the Craig Foundation, Pink Larkin, Halcraft Printers, Strategic Arts Management, and InnVest Hotels (Comfort Inn).
Please see the enclosed list of tour dates and artist biography and come share in a unique, virtuosic performance.

BIOGRAPHY—DANIEL WNUKOWSKI
Hailed as “rapturous and glowing” by International Record Review and “an inspirational and devoted pianist” by the Financial Times (Life & Arts), Polish-Canadian pianist Daniel Wnukowski has performed throughout Europe, North America, South America and Asia in prestigious concert halls. He has performed with many orchestras, including the Polish Radio Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Orchestra Filarmonica, Marchigiana, Poznan Philharmonic, Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic, and in numerous International Festivals such as Chopin and His Europe in Warsaw, Poland; Festival Dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy; Chopiniana in Buenos Aires, Argentina; and the Pre-LSO Concert Series in London, UK.
Wnukowski was recently awarded a $23,000 grant from the Canada Council for the Arts to perform outreach concerts for remote, Indigenous communities in Canada. Additionally, he was the recipient of numerous scholarships and grants for promulgating the works of exiled Jewish composers of the early 20th century.
Wnukowski inaugurated the 2017 year in Warsaw, Poland as a special guest at the National Philharmonic Hall, performing Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” under the direction of Jerzy Maksymiuk. The concert broadcasted live on television and a commercial DVD recording was made available. On May 5, 2017, he performed at the Austrian Parliament in remembrance of Holocaust victims targeted by Nazi Germany. This deeply meaningful event broadcasted live on Austrian television for ORF-2. In November of that year, he performed a live radio broadcast for The New Classical 96.3 FM in Toronto, containing a selection of musical works by Viennese composers.
Wnukowski trained at the Lake Como International Piano Academy in Italy where he worked with distinguished artists such as Dmitri Bashkirov, Menahem Pressler, Claude Frank, Fou Ts’ong, John Perry, and William Grant Naboré. He also studied at the Peabody Institute in Baltimore under the guidance of Leon Fleisher.
