Debut Atlantic’s Summer Digital Concert Series
Are you a professional Canadian performing artist? Apply for Debut Atlantic’s first-ever 2021 Summer Digital Concert Series!
All accepted projects need to be pre-recorded. Performances will launch in July and August of 2021 through Debut Atlantic’s social media channels and website.
Eligible applicants must:
- be a Canadian classical or world music artist(s) – individuals or small ensembles welcome to apply*
- respect all government public health restrictions in their own region put in place to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 while filming videos.
Canadian Citizen: Artist must be a Canadian citizen or have Permanent Resident status as defined by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
Debut welcomes applications from those who reflect the diversity of our Canadian communities.
Application requirements:
- 2-3 performance video links, sent via Dropbox, YouTube, Vimeo (maximum 30 minutes of music)
- Biography
- High-resolution photo (.jpeg)
- Concert Proposal – max. 500-word description of program (total length of performance should not exceed 30 minutes)
- Description of technical set-up
- Budget outlining any additional expenses, such as technical rental equipment (if required)**
Artistic Selection Process:
All complete applications will be considered. Applications will be reviewed in accordance with the goals and artistic selection criteria of Debut Atlantic, including (but not limited to):
- Demonstrated excellence in the chosen instrument
- Interesting, innovative, and inclusive programming
Additional considerations include: overall curatorial balance, gender equity, inclusion of artists and composers of diverse backgrounds

Artist fees range from $500-$2,000, depending on project and ensemble size.
Technical expenses should not exceed $1,000.

Debut Atlantic’s 2021 Summer Digital Concert Series is supported by the generous donations towards the Debut Atlantic – Encore Artist Relief Fund.
*Debut reserves the right to select projects who have not directly or formally applied to participate.
** Debut will cover the majority of technical costs, such as equipment or venue rental, within reason. Other expenses such as personnel may not be covered, however, please outline all costs in your budget.
